I ran across the DxO ONE 20.2 MP Digital Camera…
Stepping into Ferndale is like stepping back in time! I felt like I was transported straight into the Anne of Green Gables movie–all I needed was to see Gilbert chasing after Anne with an e! Scroll to the bottom for a complete list of links to all of the Inn’s, Vacation Rentals and Restaurants.
The residents homes were picturesque!
I loved that there was a little white church right in the middle of it all! I bet all the residents in the Victorian Era were married there! Adorable!
Why don’t they build churches like this anymore?
The town was full of little shops, antique stores and very neat Art Galleries.
There were a lot of tourists everywhere and the shop owners were so warm and welcoming to everyone that walked through their doors.
It seemed to be a very patriotic town with the American flags everywhere. I wish more towns were like this!
The Ferndale Emporium was a cute stop–I collect jadite and these cups tempted me but they were replicas not the real deal–still very cute!
This was another adorable little Inn I passed. It really could not have gotten cuter and was built in the 1800’s! Almost every store or building had a plaque outside with it’s history–loved that! The Flowers in Ferndale were out of this world beautiful! They were everywhere and I couldn’t get enough!
This is the restored Victorian-Era mansion called The Gingerbread Mansion. It has 11 rooms and antique furniture. It was adorable! My parents have stayed here numerous times and have loved it.
The garden was stunning! So well kept!
Seemed to be a great climate for growing Hydrangea!
This is the Victorian and it seemed to be a very popular lunching spot! If I hadn’t already eaten this is where I was going to go and I have heard great things about it!
And the useful history plaque located just outside!
The beach was just a few miles away and the drive was breathtaking–I have never been to Prince Edward Island but I would image this is the closest town similar to it in California! Driving through the Avenue of the Giants is a must on the way back! The largest group of Redwoods in northern california–it really is something to behold! My Quick Take:Ferndale is a hidden Gem located up the 101 freeway and is a must if you are into the Victorian Era! I loved it!
