Sephora Holiday Gift Sets 2015-For the Beauty Lover in Your Life!

It’s that time of year when all the Fashion magazines start talking about Fall. Fall trends, Fall Boots, Fall make-up….well, I am here to be your “KEEP SUMMER FOR AS LONG AS WE CAN” advocate! I will not be putting boots and pants on until it’s cold outside! The days may be seeming to already get a little shorter which means less sunshine–nooooo! -But here is an easy way to keep your tan glowing all the way into Fall! St. Tropez Express Bronzing Mouse-1 hour self tanning is all the rage right now and I am loving it. I can’t sit in self tan for 8 hours–I just can’t do it anymore. It drives me nuts. And we all know that Tanning beds and the Sun are so bad for our skin–thank you Moms for pounding that into us–I wish I could live oblivious to the damaging effects of the sun and tanning beds! Just kidding-I know, I know, skin cancer is real and nothing to joke about–I know this because people in my family had experienced it. So, I tested this one out and noticed right off that it has a lovely light scent to it.
What the brand claims:
This is a lightweight, fast-acting tinted mousse that dries in 60 seconds and develops in as little as one hour. This highly advanced, no-fuss, fast-acting tan features intelligent shade technology that allows you to select your shade of tan by choosing when to shower. Comprised of 100 percent natural tanning agents, it delivers streak-free, natural-looking results on all skin tones. This product is dermatologist tested, not tested on animals, and a 100 percent natural DHA and is an Allure Best of Beauty winner.
My Application: It does have the slighest smell of self-tan DHA while applying and while you are waiting for it to develop but as soon as I showered the that smell was gone and did not linger! It did dry as fast as it claims–60 seconds and I could get dressed. I was super light! It didn’t have that stickiness to it that other self tanners have–that make it torture to get dress after.
I did the normal exfoliating and putting lotion on dry spots before applying. You have 3 options–leave it on for 1 hour and get a nice glow (great for last minute events that pop up!), leave it on for 2 hours to get a medium glow and for the full effect of the product leave it on for 3 hours.
Let’s talk ingredients for a moment–another reason why I chose this tanner over other St. Tropez mouse’s is because this one does not contain Linalool! An ingredient that can clog pores. I try to avoid it if I can. The other St. Tropez mouses do contain it. It’s not so bad if you are just applying to your body but I wanted to apply it to my face too. See ingredients below:
-DHA (100% Natural)
Water, Dihydroxyacetone, Caramel, Propylene Glycol, Ethoxydiglycol, Glycerin, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Decyl Glucoside, Phenoxyethanol, Melanin, Parfum (Fragrance), Hydroxyethylcellulose, Dimethyl Isosorbide , Sodium Metabisulfite, Ethylhexylglycerin, Linalool, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, CI 14700 (Red 4), CI 19140 (Yellow 5), CI 42090 (Blue 1).
Here’s my inner forearm arm after application, showing 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours. I already had quite a deep tan–so it is a little hard to tell. I will have to do it again in winter when I am lighter, I still loved my bronzed results!
My Quick Take: I love this Self-Tan! It doesn’t stink, dries quickly and does what it claims! –And I do recommend it if you have problem skin. It didn’t clog my pores at all!
You can purchase it from Sephora for $44 and you get 6.7 oz. I did apply it with the St. Tropez mitt. It’s not completely necessary but it does make application quicker while keeping your hands clean and not stained.
QVC.com has a supersized 13.5 oz for $54 right now that comes with 2 application mitts! Which is actually a great deal because each mitt cost $6.50 individually. I wish I would have seen this before I purchased it from Sephora! Although, I don’t recommend getting this size if you are trying it out for the first time.
One of InStyle’s Editors (I love InStyle!) wrote about this tanner–I enjoyed reading it, you might too. And below is a the QVC video that made me want to get my hands on this stuff ASAP–Yes, I am guilty of watching QVC for much longer than is recommended by Suze Orman.
