I got this lovely BB tinted treatment as a sample from Sephora. As a person with problem skin I never stray from my staples in foundations, Chanel Vitalumier Aqua, Chanel Perfection Lumiere and my drugstore choice, Revlon ColorStay. I’ve used these for years and gave up on finding another foundation that I liked that would’t irritate my skin. I set the sample on my counter and little by little this cute sample with a bunch of different shades eventlually got me to open in and try it out–haha. It was like nothing I have ever felt before! It was smooth, light and had almost this bouncy, whipped texture. I smoothed it on over my face–ignoring the usual precaution of doing a test patch and it literally filled in my pores, blurred minor imperfections and left my skin with a.…not matte finish and neither dewy finish but this perfect “in between” finish. I wore it for 3 days with zero breakouts and knew I had to purchase it ASAP!
Sephora had a smaller tube for sale in two shades and medium (my shade) happened to be one of them, so I chose the smaller tube just in case this little discovery turned out to be too good to be true. It costed me $14. The larger tube costs $36. I have used it for 2 weeks now and feel like that is enough time to put it the test and tell you guys my results.
This is what Tarte Claims the treatment does on the left and my results on the right:
*Oil-free —– Thank you Tarte! Not all of us got to jump on the Argan Oil band wagon.
*Gives smooth, youthful-looking skin —— True!
*Is a primer, moisturizer, light foundation, antiaging treatment, and sunscreen all in one —— True!
*Gives a youthful glow —— True!
*Stays on 12-hours —— I would say 8 hours.
*Age defying —— this is true because it contains sunscreen and is moisturizing.
*Buildable Coverage — definitely! I do a once over on my whole face then go back and pop it over blemishes.
*Evens out skin tone and skin imperfections —— True! It does it beautifully!
*Diffuses light to minimize fine lines, wrinkles, and pores —— I don’t really have wrinkles yet but it did fill in my pores very superbly.
*Silky cream formula that blends easily —– True! The feel of this is almost indescribable!
*Moisturize and smooth dehydrated skin —– True! It does this without making you feel greasy.
*Prime and perfect skins surface —— True! The ladies who want a complete coverage can pop this on as a primer and put your foundation over it–I plan on doing this for evenings out.
*Protect skin from the sun —– True! The physical sunscreen in this is the best.
*Camouflage and correct skin tone —– It has camouflaged imperfections but I will have to wait at least 4 more weeks to see if there is any real results with correcting my skin tone.
*Has what they call tripleB complex, a blend of natural diamond dust, plants, and lipoamino acids that diffuses light and minimizes the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pores while improving the appearance of skin luminosity —- True! If that was this tripleB is responsible for for that then can I buy it in bulk please??
I love their gel blushes as they are oil-free also and are amazing. I will have to do a review on those! Anyways back to this treatment primer. I have worn it to the beach, car shopping for 8 hours in 90 degree heat, on long runs and am so happy to report that it does hold up to it’s claims! It stayed in place all day and never slid off my face in the heat. The in between “non-matte” but “non-dewy” finish seamed to control any oil and at the same time moisturize my skin and any dry spots. If you have oily skin I would recommend not putting a moisturizer on underneath this. However if you have dry skin you may want to pop on a moisturizer underneath this. Combination skinned ladies can put it on alone like me.
Since this is SPF 30 and I don’t need a moisturizer underneath it completely eliminates a step for me in the morning–yes!! The SPF 30 in this is derived from two natural ingrediants: titanium dioxide and zince oxide–this means that it is a “physical” suncreen instead of a “chemical” suncreen. This blocks the UVA and UVB rays. If you have a choice always choose “physical” sunscreen it is gentler on the skin and less likely to cause reactions and breakouts–Zinc is also know to be calming for red and irritated skin.
I love the packaging! I used to be one of those girls that couldn’t leave the house without a full face of make-up along with a smoky eye-haha…those days are long gone!! On weekdays I like a super fast routine that does the job as quickly as possible—enter squirt tube packaging!! This is so convenient and fast. No shaking, no glass bottle, no waiting to have it pour out–just a simple squirt–one and done! Love it! The packaging is super convenient for traveling too! Also, another thing that I LOVE about this is that the actual tubes themselves come sealed! You have to pull off a tab for first use–I wish all make-up came sealed like that instead of trying to guess if someone has dabbled in it your product before you. Yuck!
This is the medium shade which is just right for me right now. For reference I am also shade Beige 30 in Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua if that helps!
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Mica, Polysilicone-11, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Hexyl Laurate, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Stearic Acid, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Alumina, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline, Diamond Powder, Iron Oxides.
I don’t find these kind of results often in foundations–with my skin I always find something wrong with them–they make me break out, are too thick, clog my pores, are too dewy or too matte–this BB Treatment falls just in the “just right” category for me with my combination skin. I can now ad it to my Holy Grail of foundations that don’t irritate my skin!
Sephora has it in 5 shades along with the travel sizes in medium in Light and Medium.
Have you tried this BB Treatment? What do you think about it? I would love to know! Let me know in comments!
